EMODnet Biology Annual Meeting and Workshop with the Regional Sea Conventions (CC-BY-NC)

The annual meeting of EMODnet Biology focused on providing all the partners an update of the progress so far and plans for the coming year and future. It was also an opportunity for the consortium partners to provide feedback on the work they have been doing for the different Work Packages they are involved in. The meeting counted with 35 colleagues from all but two partner organisations, with roughly 54% of those on site and the remaining 46% online. The meeting report, which will include the WP and partners presentations will be published on the EMODnet Central Portal by May 17th.

Additionally, as part of the Phase V workplan, EMODnet Biology organized a workshop focused on the Regional Sea Conventions on the morning of April 18th.

The workshop was organized following the results of a questionnaire that was sent last year to multiple organisations involved in the RSC.

The half day was used to provide an overview of EMODnet Biology in terms of services, data, products and to capture feedback from the four RSCs. In total 33 participants joined the workshop including at least one representative from each RSC, policy officers from DG MARE and DG ENV, colleagues from EMODnet Seabed Habitats as well as consortium partners that are involved in WP3 (data products) and WP4 (uptake and outreach).

With this workshop we seek to improve communication and discuss opportunities for collaboration with all RSCs, understand where there are data gaps that we might be able to close and whether there is specific support we can provide for the work developed.

The workshop report, including all presentations will be published in the EMODnet Central Portal by May 9th.
